Shortness of Breath
Shortness of breath, especially during physical exertion or while lying down, can be a sign of heart issues. When your heart is struggling to pump blood effectively, fluid can accumulate in your lungs, making it difficult to breathe. This symptom should not be ignored, as it could indicate a serious heart condition such as heart failure or coronary artery disease.
If you experience sudden or severe shortness of breath, seek medical attention immediately, as it could be a sign of a life-threatening condition.
Chest Discomfort
Chest discomfort is another warning sign that your heart may not be working properly. While chest pain is commonly associated with heart attacks, not all heart-related chest discomfort is intense or severe. It could manifest as pressure, tightness, or a squeezing sensation in the chest. However, chest discomfort can also be caused by non-cardiac issues such as indigestion or muscle strain.
It’s important to pay attention to any unusual sensations in your chest and seek medical evaluation if you’re concerned about your heart health.
